Specialist Treatment for Eating Disorders and Body Image

UK leading experts in eating disorder therapy for adults, children and adolescents

Understanding Eating Disorders

We are a CQC-approved specialist clinic, one of the few private eating disorder therapy clinics in the UK regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

At the London Centre we believe that it’s important to find not only the right clinician, but also the right treatment for you. So whilst we make sure we use evidence based therapies, we also make sure that we listen to what you want, to help find the right therapist and the right approach for you. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide highly specialist, holistic and effective evidence based treatments.

We recognise that the journey to recovery can be challenging, and we are here to offer support every step of the way.

What we treat

A note from our Founder

The London Centre started in 2012 as a small but very specialist network of clinicians, delivering high quality private treatment in the field of eating disorders. From there, we have grown in size and scope to become what I believe is a unique service in the UK. As a psychology led service, therapy is at the heart of what we do. We work with individuals in a way that is truly based on what they need and want, rather than what skills or res ources dictate. The addition of dietetics, occupational therapy, and family therapy, means our approach can be holistic as well as specialist. I firmly believe that whilst no one treatment or clinician is right for everyone, given the right person with the right skills at the right time, anyone can recover from an eating disorder. Eating and body image disorders require highly specialist skills and a wealth of experience to treat successfully and it is only by specialising in these areas that one can truly understand them, and help. I am extremely proud of what we have built at The London Centre, and the huge numbers of people that we help to return to a healthy relationship with food and body each year, are testament to the expert work of our team.

What we do

We see people with a wide range of difficulties - emotional eating, binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, body image issues, body dysmorphic disorder, ARFID and many other food and mood related issues. We will always start with an assessment session, where we can discuss your difficulties and the impact they are having on you. There is no need to have a prior “diagnosis” or to have been referred by another professional to come and see us.

After an initial assessment we are able to offer face to face or remote (online) individual or family treatment sessions.

You can see one of our clinical or counselling psychologists for individual psychological therapy, our family therapist for couples or family therapy sessions, and/or our dieticians or occupational therapist for specialist advice and guidance. At assessment, we can discuss your needs, find out what you want, and make recommendations about what might suit you best.
